Gionee has unveiled its new Marathon M5 and the Elife E8 smartphones in Beijing and it so happens that Xiaomi has held its own event, also today, and also in the same city. But Xiaomi didn’t announce any new smartphones, as its event has been about some new accessories that the company has announced.
The most important product is the new Mi WiFi Router, which is described as a coporate-class router with built-in storage. The router comes with a PCB dual-antenna array supporting 802.11ac WiFi and a 1TB hard disk which is stacked on top. You can use that to store whatever you like and business users can also use it for surveillance videos, as well. Yagi 4g Antenna
Xiaomi’s router is alsot he first to feature a Broadcom 4709C dual-core 1.4GHz processor, which should ensure a high-speed connectivity. The 1TB version is priced at around $112 and the 6TB version can be bought for $485. The router also gets a 512MB flash memory and Xiaomi claims that its antennas improve 2.4G performance by 100 percent, and 5G performance by 30 percent.
The router can also automatically take backups from your cameras or smartphones. Xiaomi has also launched the Mi Wi-Fi Amplifier which can be bought for around $7. The Chinese company also announced its new i-Youth Smart Air Conditioner which can be controlled via a smartphone using the Mi Smart Air-Cond App, and the Xiaomi Yeelight Bedside lamp which is also smartphone-controlled. The lamp is priced at roughly $40 and the smart conditioner can be yours for $500.
