VANDERBIJLPARK .– The MMC for Public Works, Tumi Mochawe, welcomed the highly anticipated 30MVA power transformer to the Town Substation on Tuesday, September, 26.

Once the state-of-the-art transformer is commissioned, it is expected to significantly enhance the overall reliability of electricity supply to a multitude of areas, including CW Areas, Bophelong, Bophelong Extensions, portions of NW 7, Bonanne, and the surrounding Agricultural Holdings.
The long-standing issues related to power outages and instability in these regions are poised to be a thing of the past.
MMC Mochawe expressed his enthusiasm about the arrival of the new transformer, emphasizing its critical role in ensuring that the Town Substation can meet the escalating electricity demand.
“The arrival of this transformer marks a fresh start for one of our most problematic substations in Vanderbijlpark. Together with the Token Identity Rollover (TID) program, an initiative aimed at the migration of the prepaid vending system through upgrading prepaid meters, the municipality will finally be able to provide a dependable electricity service, and collect revenue as expected,” he said.
The transformative addition, when coupled with the existing 30MVA transformer, is set to alleviate the growing demand for developments in the CW Area.
