The strongest androids of the Red Ribbon Army could throw a challenge to Son Goku any day.
The Dragon Ball franchise has given the fans two of the greatest protagonists in anime history. Even after four decades, fans considered Goku and Vegeta as the most iconic characters. But people often forget that Akira Toriyama’s magnum opus has also given us several antagonists that still haunt people. And thanks to all those antagonists, people got to see so many amazing transformations. DP
The Red Ribbon Army is one of the first villain groups in the Dragon Ball franchise. They first appeared in Dragon Ball, and now they come back during Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero saga. The group is infamous for creating evil androids that threaten humankind. Dr. Gero was the leader, and after his death, his grandson, Dr Hedo, was leading the group. Let us see the strongest androids created by these evil geniuses and whether Son Goku could take them on.
Android 18 was one of the main antagonists during the Androids Saga. She was pretty powerful at that time. She and her brother killed all the Z Warriors in the future, and Gohan and Trunks were the only ones left. The former also died at their hands. Thankfully, Trunks came back in time to warn the others. Even so, Vegeta was no match for her. and she beat him brutally and broke his hands. Later, she turned good and got married to Krillin. They had a child together. But she remains one of the strongest androids to be ever made.
Son Goku can easily defeat Android 18. Now that he has mastered Ultra Instinct, Android 18 won’t be much of a challenge for him. But if it was during the Android Saga, Goku would have a hard time with her in his Super Saiyan 2 mode.
Android 17 is the twin brother of Android 18. The brother-sister duo wreaked havoc during the Android Saga. The Z Warriors could not control the androids. Due to being emotionless, they posed a greater threat to humanity. Just like his sister, he has an internal energy core that supplies him with unlimited energy. The gift of flight, durability, laser blasts, etc., all happen due to the core. Due to them being androids, they do not have Ki. Unfortunately, Android 17 never reached his full potential, but he did come out victorious in Dragon Ball Super’s Tournament of Power.
Android 17 would be no problem for Son Goku. A lot has changed since the Dragon Ball Z days. Android 17 is busy looking after nature, while Son Goku is busy training with the Gods. Goku would come out victorious against Android 17.
Gamma 2 is one of the latest android created by the Red Ribbon Army. Dr. Hedo, grandson of Dr. Gero, is the creator of Gamma 2. Gamma 2 is one of the strongest androids ever created. He excels most of the androids in strength, speed, and durability. He looks more like an android than his predecessors. Even though he was a project of the Red Ribbon Army, he was programmed to be a superhero. He died after using his life force to stop Cell Max.
Just like Gamma 2, Gamma 1 was also a creation of Dr. Hedo. He has the same properties as that of his counterpart. The only difference is that Gamma 1 has the number 1 on his chest, which is colored in red, while Gamma 2 has the number 2 written in blue. He proved to be a crucial help to Orange Piccolo and Beast Gohan to stop Cell Max’s ramage.
Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 are strong androids but not strong enough to defeat Goku. Unlike Android 17 and 18, it would not be a piece of cake for Goku. Son Goku would need to work more to defeat Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’s Gamma duo.
Perfect Cell was the main antagonist of the Cell Games Saga. His face is enough to give nightmares to the Dragon Ball Z fans. He became strong after absorbing Android 17 and 18. In his perfect form, Goku could not defeat him. He wreaked havoc, and none of the Z warriors were strong enough to face him. Perfect Cell could even copy others’ moves including the Kamehameha. Thanks to Super Saiyan 2 Gohan, he was defeated. The father-son Kamehameha remains one of the most iconic attacks in the franchise.
Perfect Cell was a menace during the 1990s. Goku had to lay down his life to stop him. But now, in his mastered Ultra Instinct form, Goku could take on Perfect Cell and defeat him. In Dragon Ball GT, he defeated Perfect Cell without much difficulty.
Cell Max is the main antagonist of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. People often mistake Cell Max as an evolved form of Perfect Cell, but they are two different identities. Cell Max was created by Dr. Hedo from the blueprints of Perfect Cell. Cell Max is the strongest android of all. Beast Gohan and Orange Piccolo could barely defeat him with the help of the Gamma duo. From every aspect, he overpowered the heroes. Even the creator, Akira Toriyama, confirmed Cell Max to be more potent than Broly after the completion of his incubation period.
Son Goku vs. Cell Max would be a fight that the fans would love to see. Even with Mastered Ultra Instinct, Cell Max will edge over Goku but by a small margin. Akira Toriyama confirmed Beast Gohan to be the strongest individual currently present in his magnum opus. So, if he had to take help from the likes of Orange Piccolo and the Gamma duo, Goku would need something more than just his Mastered Ultra Instinct.
