CalAmp introduces new Android tablet for fleets

CalAmp has announced the availability of the MDT-7PTM Android-based tablet designed to integrate with CalAmp’s family of aftermarket telematics devices. It features wired, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a 7-in. touchscreen display, and is built to deliver and support value-added applications for industries such as long-haul trucking, fleet management, asset delivery and mobile workforce management, the company said. Walkaround photos, multiple inspection lists, email notifications, and scheduler enhancement are among the new features.

Lytx recently announced new enhancements to its Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) solution, which the company describes as a simplified electronic platform for vehicles beyond the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate. Their DVIR was released last year.

New DVIR enhancements, according to the company, include:

Walkaround Photos – Drivers can now be instructed to capture and submit four walkaround photos via the Driver App, for a 360-degree view of the current condition of the vehicle.
