Two people were rushed to the hospital following a Sunday evening boat crash.
The incident happened around 8:30 p.m. when a boat collided with a buoy in the Delaware River between Lower Bucks County and New Jersey in the area of the I-95 bridge, officials said. Watercourse Weather Buoy
Two people were pulled from the water by a nearby boater who transported them to waiting medics at the Edgely Boat Club, officials said.
Edgely Fire Company Chief Brian Cirard said his fire company assisted at the scene providing medical care until ambulances arrived.
Bucks County Rescue Squad Marty Liczbinski said his crew and one from the Levittown-Fairless Hills Rescue Squad transported the two injured people to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia for treatment.
Bristol Township and Burlington, New Jersey firefighters were called to put boats in the water, but the incident was resolved and the boats were not needed.
The New Jersey State Police launched a boat to handle the crash.
