Krytonite Swelling Waterstop is part of a new waterproof joint design that combines both swelling waterbar with crystalline technology to achieve the ultimate protection for concrete construction joints against penetration of water – even under extreme hydrostatic pressures.
Krytonite’s unique synthetic rubber technology swells many times more than ordinary rubber or bentonite products and produces swelling pressure sufficient to withstand extreme hydrostatic pressure. Krytonite achieves superior swelling performance even when exposed to salt water or when used in chloride or sulfate contaminated soils.
Despite its extraordinary swelling ability, Krytonite is specially engineered so that swelling action occurs after concrete has gained sufficient strength to resist the swelling pressure created. Krytonite’s innovative trapezoid shape resists being dislodged by falling concrete or shotcrete.
Krytonite’s bright yellow color makes inspection and verification easy.
